Alyssa Shanahan

Welcome to my 2019 Kick-a-Thon Page. My name is Alyssa Shanahan and I am a Freshman at North High School. This year I am a part of the St. Charles North Drill Team. My kicker is Dr. Whitted from Michael J Whitted Dentistry in South Elgin. The Whitteds are close family friends, who we met through Wasco Baseball. This year, on February 14th, Mrs. Whitted was diagnosed with Glioblastoma Multiform. I am passionate about raising money for Kick-a-Thon because everyday families like the Whitteds are receiving similar devastating diagnoses. From a scientific paper published in the American Cancer Society Journal, the estimated number of cancer cases in 2019 in the United States is 1,762,450. It’s events like Kick-a-Thon that support programs in our community that assist these patients, their families and help fund research and treatment for this terrible disease. Kick-a-Thon donations will go towards Living Well, Food For Health and American Cancer Society. I’m sure each and every one of you can say that Cancer has affected your family member, a friend or someone you love. Please consider supporting us by donating to our campaign. We are Anna’s Army!
